49 Days of Hearing God: Day 37

"I am the WAY" – Jesus

Today we will listen to Jesus for this specific purpose: finding our way. Or, more precisely, finding His way for us.

How often are we searching for the path forward, the best path to take or the road we were made to travel on? Jesus is the Way for a reason, because we are each desperate to find ours!

Let’s start by asking Jesus to show you the paths you are on.

Ask: Jesus, please bring to mind all the "paths" that I am currently on? (He may show you activities, involvements, pursuits...along with the beliefs that have taken you there.)

Ask:  Are any of these paths NOT your best way for me? If so, please highlight them now.

Ask: What do you know that I don’t know about those particular paths that are not not the best?

Ask: Jesus, which paths do you have for me in this season? What do you know that I don’t know about those particular good paths?

It’s the kindness of God that leads us to repentance. Repentance literally means to change direction. The voice of God is so good to show us the way of life—directions that are for our good and the good of the world rather than paths that lead to destruction. God’s conviction—His guidance—is essential. Daily direction and course correction is not only helpful, it’s necessary!

I am so grateful to know that the God of the universe wants to show me the way and place my feet firmly on paths of righteousness. He promises to give us feet that can handle the very path we are on!

Remember, the conviction that comes from the Spirit of God is like a good mother or good father’s direction and redirection on life’s paths. Embrace conviction and it will extend your life.
