The voice of lack causes us to question the goodness of God!
Yesterday, we looked at how lack whispers to us. Today, we will hear directly from Jesus about the goodness of God.
A lack-based understanding of God breeds suspicion and even disbelief that God is good.
For me, the subtle feeling that maybe there wasn’t enough of God’s goodness to go around was not a conscious thought, just a background—almost subconscious—feeling.
Jesus’ always speaks a better word—a good word.
Ask: Jesus, what lies have I believed about your goodness?
Ask: What’s the truth?
Ask: Jesus, bring to my mind a picture or a memory that can help teach me about God’s goodness.
Ask: Jesus, let me see that picture or memory from your eyes and with your understanding.
The good news really is good! It’s better than we know! Let Jesus' words soak into you today and think about how you want God’s words to change the way you live in the world.
