49 Days of Hearing God: Day 27

"I heard Your voice in the garden," he replied, "and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself." (Genesis 3:10)

Have you ever had this mindset: God may be speaking, but not to me.

Or this: I’m not worthy to hear from God.

Or this: I’m afraid to hear from God.

Today, I look at Adam in the garden and Moses at Mt. Sinai where God’s heart to connect with ALL people is on display. Fear and shame can cloud our understanding of God’s desire to speak to us. All the more reason to boldly enter God’s presence like Paul, go to the mountain like Moses (Exodus 20) or walk in the garden like Adam (Genesis 2).

Ask Jesus: Do you really want to talk to me?

Ask Jesus: Is there a part of me that is afraid to hear from you?

Ask Jesus: Is there a part of my heart that questions whether it’s safe for me personally to hear from you?

Continue the conversation:

What are you saying to me right now, Jesus?

What do you know that I don’t know about your heart of connection for me?

God has always wanted to speak to you, to me, and to those who have gone before us.

"In Him and through faith in Him we may enter God's presence with boldness and confidence." (Ephesians 3:12)
